Caroline Olivia McClenaghan nee Geary was my great grandmother. She was born in Dublin in 1836. Her family lived at 35 Harcourt Street. They were an interesting family – musicians, composers, conductors, singers. Caroline met George when she was 19. See ‘People Like Us’ for the story of their meeting and courtship. She travelled around Ireland with George, from Newry to Sligo to Ballinamore to Athlone. She gave birth to eight children. Unfortunately she was deaf and the deafness was passed down through the generations. She and George and their two oldest daughters Eva and Carrie who died of TB, are buried together in Cornamagh Cemetery
